LIVE SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS

Professional Translators Society
(ATN-APTS) website provides live
support to translators, including
help with a term, or translation of
a phrase. Live support volunteers
are ideally highly experienced
translators who are willing to
contribute to helping other
translators.
A live
support volunteer is given access to
our Live Support System (LSS). Our
LSS is multi-user; this means that
we can have many volunteers logging
into the system simultaneously. If
at least one volunteer is logged in,
the LSS icon on our website's index
page shows that "Live Support is
Available". When a translator
seeking support clicks on that icon,
he/she is routed to the logged-in
volunteers, and a ring tone is heard
by the volunteer. Just like
answering a phone call, one of the
volunteers takes the request, and
starts chatting. A chat support call
should not take more than 2-3
minutes to complete.
When
there are no volunteers logged in,
the "Leave Message" icon is
displayed. Messages are sent to
ATN-APTS Member Services.
