  • Certified Translator/Interpreter: Any Arabic translator and interpreter who meets qualification requirements and satisfactorily passes the APTS translator and interpreter certification examination.
  • Certified Associate: Any Arabic translator/interpreter who meets qualification requirements and satisfactorily passes the APTS translator/interpreter certification examination, but does not hold a 4-year university degree.
  • Certified Translation Instructor: Qualification requirements include a Master's degree as a minimum with at least 10 years of translation experience, and at least two years of foreign language and/or translation teaching experience.

Application for Membership

Applications for membership are submitted to APTS by email to members@arabtranslators.org. The APTS Member Services Unit processes all applications for membership, arranges for certification testing, and informs applicants of the status of their applications. Qualified applicants can take the test at any nearby Official APTS Certification Examiner’s office. Verification of original certificates and supporting documents by the APTS certification examiner may be required.

Tests are sent to the Examination Committee for evaluation, and the names of certified members are published on the APTS website. Certified members can order a certificate, a membership card and a certified member stamp.

We have Official APTS Certification Examiners in all Arab countries, as well as in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and Asia. Our examiners network continues to expand, as more examiners are added to our growing list.
