Certicifation

Arab Translators Network-Arab Professional Translators Society (ATN-APTS) based in Beirut, Lebanon is an international association registered in Willisau, Switzerland. Our certification test is our means of assessing the qualifications of our members and ascertaining that they meet professional standards. All candidates for the certification test must meet education and experience prerequisites, with a BACHELOR DEGREE AS A MINIMUM, and must provide proof of education and work experience. Candidates must also carefully read our Professional Code of Ethics.

Certification - Translators

Translators may take the test online through our website, or in-person at one of our affiliated centers in their countries of residence. Our testing committee decides the content of the test on a case-by-case basis, after assessment of the applicant's qualifications and experience.

Certification - Interpreters

To be eligible for certification, the interpreter must: (1) Hold a recognised university degree in conference interpreting; or (2) hold a recognised university degree in any subject and a postgraduate qualification in conference interpreting; or (3) hold a recognised university degree in any subject and have documented experience of 200 hours or more in consecutive and/or simultaneous conference interpreting.
